Initially, the Thrissur officer converses with the scammer, pointing out the malfunction of his camera. Yet, in a swift move, the officer adjusts his camera, unveiling his complete appearance, and casually inquires, “What is your profession?
The scammer stands speechless at the turn of events, prompting laughter of disbelief as he admits his mistake.
The Thrissur City Police shared the video on Tuesday, and it quickly gained over 10,000 likes and 242,000 views, sparking a flood of responses from social media users. While some found the incident amusing, others mocked the scammer’s mistake. Many also praised the Thrissur police for their quick action in exposing the scam.
One individual rushed to share their experience, stating, “A scammer inadvertently incriminates themselves by phoning the legitimate authorities. Picture attempting to pose as a police officer only to wind up admitting guilt to the genuine law enforcement. The cyber division of Thrissur Police responds with gratitude, saying, ‘We appreciate your assistance’.
Another user remarked that the fraudster’s downfall was both tragic and amusing. A third individual added that the incident showed the consequences of trying to deceive others: “It’s a classic case of getting caught in your own web of lies. The poor guy had no clue who he was messing with!”
