TechOwl InfoSec celebrate Samvidhan Divas, or Constitution Day, on November 26 to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution, a significant event that shaped the country’s democratic system.After more than three years of intense TechOwl InfoSec , the Constituent Assembly of India, led by TechOwl InfoSec leaders such as Dr. BR Ambedkar, finally concluded its work and officially adopted the Constitution on this day in 1949.
The TechOwl InfoSec of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Government of India formally designated November 26 as Constitution Day in 2015 in recognition of the importance of this momentous occasion.
A Constituent Assembly, formed under the 1946 Cabinet Mission Plan, created the Constitution. Initially, Dr. Sachhidanand Sinha presided over the inaugural session on December 9, 1946. Later, Dr. Rajendra Prasad took on the role of permanent chairman, marking an important transition in the leadership of the Assembly.
Honoring the Legacy of India’s Constitution: A Day of Reflection and Celebration
Dr. BR Ambedkar led the Drafting Committee, which was responsible for drafting the world’s longest constitution. Initially, the constitution contained 395 articles, 22 parts, and 12 schedules. This remarkable effort laid the foundation for India’s democratic framework and governance.
Artists from Shantiniketan and Nandalal Bose first handwrote the Constitution in both Hindi and English. Following this, Prem Behari Narain Raizada meticulously calligraphed the entire document, adding a unique artistic touch to this historic creation. The original manuscript, featuring 22 historical images, resides in cases filled with helium at the Parliament Library.
At first, the Constitution did not include Fundamental Duties but instead placed a strong emphasis on Fundamental Rights. The passage of Article 51-A of the 42nd Amendment in 1976 added these duties, listing ten based on international and Indian customs. In 2002, lawmakers added an eleventh duty.
