Rakesh Roshan revealed the real reason he has not worked with Ajay Devgn following his exit from Karan Arjun.

The casting journey of the movie Karan Arjun is quite intriguing. Initially, director Rakesh Roshan approached Ajay Devgn to play the character of Karan before finalizing Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan for the roles. Despite reports indicating Ajay Devgn’s initial agreement, he eventually declined the offer citing personal reasons, leading to Salman Khan taking on the role. Though this collaboration did not materialize, Rakesh Roshan later revealed exclusively to News18 Showsha that he had also considered Ajay Devgn for a role in Krrish 3.

Rakesh had imagined Ajay in the character of Kaal, the antagonist in the movie, even though it wasn’t the lead role. Nonetheless, Ajay rejected the part, which later went to Vivek Oberoi. Rakesh disclosed that Ajay declined the offer to portray the villain because he believed that as a protagonist, he should not be defeated by another hero.

That despite his admiration for the talented actor and his desire to collaborate, they never had the opportunity to work together. Expressing regret that he couldn’t cast him in any of his films so far, Rakesh acknowledged the significant impact the actor leaves in every role. He mentioned approaching him for the role played by Vivek Oberoi in “Krrish 3,” yet the stars have not aligned for them to join forces on a project.

Rakesh declined the offer, expressing his reluctance to portray a character who meets an unfavorable end due to his own hero status. Despite acknowledging the story and screenplay’s quality as excellent, he found it challenging to commit to the role. Maintaining a firm stance on not compromising the narrative integrity, the filmmaker revealed the entire script, leading to the actor’s decision to reject the role.

Rakesh Roshan’s film “Krrish 3” hit the screens in 2013 with Hrithik Roshan in the lead role alongside Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, and Vivek Oberoi. The movie turned out to be a massive success, paving the way for the announcement of its sequel, “Krrish 4”. Additionally, Rakesh is currently gearing up for the re-release of “Karan Arjun”, which marks its 30th anniversary this year.
