At the Miss Universe 2024 contest in Mexico City on November 17, Egypt’s Logina Salah created history for two unprecedented reasons. Salah became Egypt’s first top-30 finisher in the competition’s 73-year history. She also broke beauty standards as the first Miss Universe with vitiligo.

Logina was the first Egyptian lady with vitiligo to compete in Miss Universe, setting new beauty standards and promoting inclusivity. She started a conversation about true beauty beyond appearances by embracing her unique experience. Salah thanked her 1.8 million Instagram followers, “Thank you to everyone for being with me in this journey, it means a lot!”

Who is Logina Salah?
Egypt’s Logina Salah was born April 21, 1990, in Alexandria, a coastal city. Beginning her beauty career, she advocated for vitiligo awareness and created safe venues for inclusive makeup techniques.
Logina moved to Dubai with her 10-year-old daughter Amy three years ago to pursue her goals. As a passionate advocate for women, she founded the Beyond The Surface Movement to promote inclusivity, empowerment, and a better future for children, youth, and women and girls.
