India’s entry into the Champions Trophy 2025 has generated a great deal of debate. Although there were some questions regarding their itinerary, India has stated unequivocally that they will not be attending the competition in Pakistan. Pakistan rejected plans for a hybrid arrangement in which India would play its games in Dubai. There is currently uncertainty regarding the competition’s future because the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are adamant about their positions. But the renowned Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar sent a sobering reminder to the PCB and the International Cricket Council (ICC) that they could lose $100 million (about Rs 844 crore) if India does not play.

“Two things will occur if Pakistan is unable to draw India to our nation or to a neutral location. First, the sponsorship that ICC and the host nation receive will cost us almost $100 million. Second, Shoaib Akhtar stated on a Pakistani television that it would be far preferable for India to visit Pakistan, play in Lahore, and win or lose, regardless of the outcome.

Indian Blind Cricket Team Excluded from T20 World Cup Due to Security Concerns

The national federation said on Tuesday that the Indian blind cricket team will not be participating in the T20 World Cup since the government has refused to allow them to visit Pakistan because of security concerns.

For the event, which was set to take place from November 23 to December 3, the Indian team was expected to enter the Wagah border on Wednesday.

The sports ministry had granted the team a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to compete in the competition at no expense to the government, but it appears that the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) was unable to grant them permission.

However, as of right moment, ministry officials have not given their approval. Therefore, we are a little let down,” Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) General Secretary Shailendra Yadav told PTI.

“They are asking how you can be secure there when the popular cricket team is not safe. We will accept the decision, of course.

“However, why wait until the last minute to make the decision? Tell us a month or twenty-five days in advance. A procedure exists,” Yadav continued.

Before choosing the World Cup team, the blind cricket team held a 25-day training camp in New Delhi, where they are currently residing.
